The accommodation is great! It's clean and hygienic. The FREE breakfast is basic but good, with yogurt and lots of fruit, along with packaged jam, butter, and peanut butter. Coffee and tea . That’s it. The rooms are clean and spacious. The most important thing is that parking is free, and you can even leave your car parked after check-out. The hotel is situated on a hill, so be ready for some uphill climbs, drive in low gear. Keep in mind that parking is paid everywhere. The best thing about this hotel is that it's within walking distance of all the attractions. The city is like an open-air storybook, with beautiful historic buildings from the 18th to the 19th century in Victorian style. The Cataract Gorge is also nearby, a 37-minute walk away. Just be prepared for a steep incline, so consider driving or taking a bus. But remember, if you drive, you'll have to pay for parking. Overall, it's worth visiting the 2 Victoria museums, dining spots like Nepalese and Sri Lankan were my favorites.

Great hotel close to the city centre of Launceston with complimentary onsite parking. We were warmly welcomed by Tim (the owner) who was more than happy to provide some info on what to see and do during our visit. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. Especially loved the super comfortable bed and the quality towels. We had a continental breakfast included and were quite impressed with what was available (fresh fruit, juice, cereal, yoghurt, fruit loaf, toast, coffee, tea) - it was a nice way to start the day. The hotel is undergoing some renovation at the moment (which we noted), but it actually didn’t affect our stay at all (minimal noise and we were out exploring most of the day). Location is excellent. Easy walking distance to the centre and (for those that like to walk a little further) only a couple of kms to the start of the Cataract Gorge. Overall a great experience and we’d definitely recommend if you’re staying in Launceston.

We enjoyed this charming, comfortable accommodation. Our 3rd floor room was quite spacious and had a great view of the surrounding streets and CBD. The included continental breakfast is an absolute winner, held in a cute room next to Reception. Access to netflix and kayo was a nice surprise especially for my AFL-mad partner who got to see his beloved North Melbourne Roos nearly beat Collingwood. Free parking and very close to the main part of town. The owner is nice and chatty and at the time we stayed there renovations were being done on the 4th floor which should give extra options. If we return to Launceston we would definitely stay here again.

The room was a large enough and very comfortable. The staff on reception were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about local attractions especially restaurants. The cleaning staff were also very friendly ,hard-working, and very thorough in performing their duties. The Continental breakfast provided was of a high standard offering a variety of fresh fruits including,Grapes Strawberries, Kiwi fruit and Currants as well as tinned Peaches and Pears.Fresh Yoghurt, Muesli and Cornflakes and Raisins rounded off with the provision of a variety of breads to toast and percolated Coffee. Cooked Breakfasts were also available as an upgrade.

Location, location… Great views of the city. Breakfast is included. We (a couple) stayed at Balmoral on York for one night on 3 Dec 2024. Location is excellent - close t City (can walk). Parking was off-street and safe. The reception was welcoming, informative, helpful - Thank you. The room was really good, fantastic view over the city. Breakfast the next morning was included. We walked to the Mall, and to Du Canes Brewery. We visited a few places in Launceston, and did the Tamar River Cruise (drove there). The stay was enjoyable - Thank you again :) Yes, Balmoral on York is recommended.
